About The Position

This is a part-time evening/night shift position with a pay range of $18.21-$26.87 plus any applicable shift differentials. The role involves maintaining the facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition through thorough washing and cleaning, including disinfection of infectious rooms. The position requires the use of safety precautions, operation of various mechanized cleaning equipment, and responsible disposal of trash, biohazardous waste, and soiled linen. Responsibilities also include restocking clean linen, washing windows, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and cleaning various fixtures within the facility. The role involves checking vacant rooms daily, reporting needed repairs, and acting as a positive team member within the Environmental Services (EVS) Department. Participation in interdepartmental process improvements, attending staff meetings, and operating a computer for training, emails, and the work order system are also key aspects. The position requires problem-solving, teamwork with other departments, and demonstrating a professional and caring manner. Ensuring continual compliance with department and MRH policies, procedures, and state/federal regulations, as well as identifying and accessing systems to report abuse, are critical. Adherence to policies and procedures for infection control, safety, and risk management is mandatory, along with performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

Ability to operate a computer to take online training, read emails, and use the work order system.

Follows all infection control, safety, and risk management procedures to maintain a safe environment for patients, the public, and staff.

Responsibilities

Maintains the facility in a sanitary and infection-free condition with thorough washing and cleaning.
Disinfection of infectious rooms.
Uses safety precautions in all areas.
Operates various mechanized cleaning equipment i.e., shop vacuum and carpet shampooer.
Responsible for disposal of trash, biohazardous waste, and other disposable materials.
Empties soiled linen cart.
Re-stocks clean linen.
Washes windows, dusts, vacuums, and mops.
Cleans sinks, mirrors, commodes, showers, and walls within the facility.
Checks all vacant rooms daily.
Reports any needed repairs to the manager.
Acts as a positive and supportive team member to the Environmental Services (EVS) Department.
Participates in interdepartmental process improvements and process evaluation efforts.
Attends staff meetings.
