Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in a 3 + star hotel as a Housekeeping Supervisor.
  • Previous supervisory experience including scheduling, training, development, performance appraisals and administering disciplinary actions.
  • Superior people management skills, customer service, conflict resolution skills and dedication to customer satisfaction.
  • Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Committed to results through flexible scheduling, consistent follow-up and leadership by example.
  • Highly productive, energetic, attentive to detail and a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees operations of the Housekeeping Department and ensures departmental productivity objectives and service quality standards.
  • Establishes and maintains cost-control system for linen and cleaning supplies inventories.
  • Oversees budgeting, ordering and receiving of supplies.
  • Inspects and manages the quality of housekeeping services within set timelines.
  • Schedules staff according to productivity standards and forecasted occupancy.
  • Complies and reports information on housekeeping activities and expenses.
  • Communicates with Guest Services on the status of guest rooms.
  • Provides training and career development for housekeeping staff.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provides feedback for employees.
  • Provides input to the department’s annual budget, monitors and reports variances against plan, and keeps track of labour costs.
  • Complies with Hotel Policies and Procedures for security and emergency procedures.
