About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor position is at the Toftrees Golf Resort in Centre County, Pennsylvania. Toftrees is a 102-room resort nestled amid 1,500 scenic wooded acres, offering guestrooms, suites, an outdoor heated pool, fitness center, 11 event rooms, a golf course, driving range, putting green, and The Field Burger and Tap restaurant. The resort has received accolades such as a 4½-star rating in Golf Digest's 'Places to Play' and recognition as one of the Top 75 Golf Conference Center Resorts in the U.S.A. by Meetings & Conventions magazine. Toftrees is part of Shaner Hotels, an award-winning hospitality owner-operator and management company with a portfolio of over 65 properties across 14 states and four countries. Shaner Hotels partners with top hospitality brands and provides various services including hotel development, design and construction, e-commerce, and revenue management. The supervisor will be responsible for ensuring compliance with daily operational procedures, maintaining high service quality, handling guest complaints, and training team members within the housekeeping department.

Requirements

  • Prior housekeeping experience in the hospitality industry
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques, chemical handling requirements, and use of equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
  • Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Housekeeping Department.
  • Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with all Shaner Hotels, franchise, and hotel/departmental policies and procedures, ensuring that housekeeping team is informed as well.
  • Handle guest complaints ensuring guest satisfaction.
  • Train and develop team members and ensure all required training is complete according to standards.
  • Review the daily business levels, anticipate critical situations, and plan effective solutions to best expedite these situations.
  • Assist staff with their job functions to ensure optimum service to guests.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned areas.
  • Performs housekeeping, laundry, and houseperson functions whenever necessary.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Maintains a high quality of services offered to guests through the management of the functional areas of the housekeeping department and maintain established standards and procedures of Shaner and/or franchise.
  • Direct, implement and maintain a strong service and management philosophy which serves as a guide to respective staff.
