About The Position

Under the general direction of the Housekeeping Manager, supervises, trains, develops the housekeeping team with the goal of cleaning and maintaining the entire casino keeping in mind customer satisfaction and teamwork. Schedules and distributes work to Housekeepers, provides instructions in work methodologies, inspects completed jobs. Ensures that the daily cleaning schedules are followed by Housekeepers on shift. Sets performance standards and work goals for Housekeepers. Continually assesses the effectiveness of cleaning performed and adherence to time standards. Partners with the Housekeeping Manager to set department goals and strategies. Evaluates staff and initiates corrective/disciplinary action as necessary. Creates and administers employee performance evaluations. Adjusts schedule set by Housekeeping Manager to meet business needs. Provides training for all staff. Participates in demonstrations of correct operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment, supplies and cleaning systems. Meets regularly with department management to report progress on key activities and adjust priorities. Meets with staff to discuss pending jobs, scheduling and attendance. Collects and reviews time sheets, maintains attendance and performance records. Collects and distributes work orders to staff and audits completed work orders. Provides accurate and timely feedback to customers, co-workers and supervision regarding the status of work. Works effectively within a diverse environment. Demonstrates knowledge of all Housekeeping responsibilities. Assures that all cleaning tasks are performed in a safe and timely manner. Must understand and display the lead by example concept. Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing. Orders supplies and keeps accurate inventory of supplies. Performs all other work related duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager. The duties listed are not set forth for the purposes of limiting the assignment of work. Requirements

  • Three (3) years previous experience as a housekeeping / custodial supervisor.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to speak, read and understand English.
  • Must be able to perform calculations as required for correct chemical dilution rates.
  • Knowledge of hazardous and non-hazardous chemicals and safety.
  • Must possess an ability to work with minimal supervision and make educated ethical decisions as necessary.
  • Must be able to resolve conflicts.
  • Must have effective communication skills with all levels of employees.
  • Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Must demonstrate an ability to work independently.
  • Must be able to prepare detailed professional correspondence, memoranda, policies, procedures as well as regulations related to the employee’s duties.
  • A general knowledge of the Windows based computer operating systems is also required.
  • Attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
