About The Position

The Hotel Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation in all guest rooms and public areas of the hotel. This role primarily focuses on conducting thorough on-the-floor inspections of guest rooms and public spaces after they have been cleaned by housekeepers to verify adherence to established quality standards and procedures. The Housekeeping Supervisor will also provide guidance, training, and support to the housekeeping team, fostering a positive and efficient work environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in hotel housekeeping, with previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.
  • Proven ability to inspect and evaluate room cleanliness according to established standards.
  • Strong knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

  • Previous experience in a lead or supervisory role preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Conducting Room Inspections: Perform detailed, on-the-floor inspections of all cleaned guest rooms to ensure they meet the hotel's stringent standards for cleanliness, orderliness, and maintenance. This includes checking bathrooms, bedrooms, closets, and any other areas within the guest room.
  • Providing Feedback and Training: Offer constructive feedback to housekeepers based on inspection results, identifying areas for improvement and reinforcing positive performance. Participate in the training of new and existing housekeeping staff on proper cleaning techniques, standards, and procedures.
  • Maintaining Quality Standards: Consistently enforce hotel housekeeping policies and procedures to ensure a high level of quality and consistency across all guest rooms.
  • Identifying and Reporting Maintenance Issues: Identify and promptly report any maintenance deficiencies or safety hazards observed in guest rooms to the appropriate department for immediate attention. Follow up to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner.
  • Managing Supplies and Inventory: Monitor the usage of cleaning supplies and guest amenities, ensuring adequate stock levels are maintained on housekeeping carts and in storage areas. Report any shortages or needs to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Ensuring Efficient Workflow: Observe and contribute to the efficient flow of housekeeping operations, identifying potential bottlenecks and suggesting improvements to the Housekeeping Manager.
  • Addressing Guest Requests and Complaints: Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests or complaints related to room cleanliness, escalating issues to the Housekeeping Manager as necessary.
  • Promoting Teamwork and Communication: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the housekeeping team. Communicate effectively with housekeepers, other departments, and management.
  • Adhering to Safety and Hygiene Regulations: Ensure all housekeeping staff adhere to safety guidelines, proper chemical handling procedures, and hygiene standards to maintain a safe and healthy environment for both guests and employees.
  • Completing Inspection Reports: Accurately document the results of room inspections, noting any deficiencies and corrective actions taken.
  • Assist with room cleaning as needed, particularly during peak periods or staff shortages.
  • Assist in the preparation of daily work assignments for housekeepers.
  • Participate in regular housekeeping meetings.
  • Assist with inventory counts and ordering of supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Housekeeping Manager.
