About The Position

The Housekeeping Supervisor is responsible for the cleaning and efficient operation of the hotel, including rooms, front and back of house areas, public spaces, and laundry. This role involves assuming the duties of the Executive Housekeeper in their absence, including the daily management of the housekeeping staff. Housekeeping Supervisors are also required to clean guest rooms and public spaces on days they are not covering for the Executive Housekeeper. This may include all guest rooms, public spaces such as restrooms, meeting rooms, exercise room, pool, and guest laundry facility.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based upon the demands of the hotel.
• Must arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate supervisor.
• Must clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
• Must provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
• Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
• Must be able to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
• Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
• Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
• Must have a desire to serve all guests.
• Regularly required to stand or remain in a stationary position for long periods of time (3-4 hours at a time).
• Regularly required to type on and operate computers and other office machinery or devices, do 10-key operation and data entry, dial a telephone, manually manipulate objects, handles, tools, and/or controls.
• Regularly required to bend, stoop, crouch, lift and transport supplies of up to 25 pounds throughout the hotel, and move throughout the hotel and the rooms.
• Regularly required to inspect and visually observe details at close range (within a few feet) and from long range.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field preferred.
• Supervisory experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage Guest Request Log: Review log daily to ensure all requests have been met, taking proactive steps to address problems before they occur.
• VIP Management: Monitor all V.I.P.'s, special guests, and requests.
• Oversee Housekeeping Team: Complete daily stand-up with the team each day to review objectives and confirm checklists are assigned and prepared for the day in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Room Inspection: Inspect rooms and ensure the quality and cleanliness of all guest rooms and public spaces in the hotel in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Storage Rooms: Maintain the organization and cleanliness of all storage rooms, mechanical rooms, housekeeping closets and main housekeeping laundry room.
• Pre-Cleaning Duties: Stocking guest supplies, cleaning supplies, and linen for housekeeping cart set-up.
• Trash and Linen Removal and Replacement: Remove all trash and dirty linen from guest rooms, replacing bed linens and replenishing guest room supplies.
• Deep Cleaning: Conduct deep cleaning activities as needed within the guest room in conjunction with the maintenance department.
• Departmental Meetings: Conduct daily department meetings with housekeeping staff in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Supply Management: Maintain required stock of all housekeeping and laundry supplies by ordering all needed supplies and amenities on a monthly/quarterly basis.
• Inventory: Conduct monthly and quarterly housekeeping inventories on a timely basis.
• Maintenance Requests: Monitor work orders and submit to Engineering department according to procedures; Follow up to ensure completion in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Status Reports: Balance and clear the room status nightly, comparing the PM Housekeeping Report with the computer's room status report and resolve all discrepancies in the absence of the Executive Housekeeper.
• Lost and Found: Maintain and monitor "Lost and Found" procedures and policies according to standards.
• Chemical Safety: Monitor proper use of and compliance with hazardous chemicals according to OSHA standards.
• Key Control: Maintain a key control system for the department.
