About The Position

The Housekeeping Director position ensures that the Facility's environment, including patient rooms, bathrooms, common spaces, dining rooms, and administrative offices, are cleaned and sanitized in accordance with approved Cantex procedures. As Supervisor, you are delegated the authority and responsibility to assure the Facility is maintained in a safe, clean, and comfortable manner.

Requirements

High School Diploma is required.
Minimum of one-year in a supervisory role.
Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in either a long-term care setting or healthcare setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan, schedule and supervise housekeeping activities at the Facility.
Establish a work log or checklist for daily, weekly, or monthly housekeeping tasks.
Perform direct housekeeping tasks as a working Director in the department.
Establish and maintain inventories of housekeeping supplies and equipment and ensure equipment is working.
Maintain housekeeping supply inventory within budget and provide spend-down sheets to Administrator every Friday.
Ensure compliance with applicable governmental regulations and company standards.
Identify and correct potential safety hazards.
Periodically assess and make recommendations for equipment replacement and repair.
Assist in recruitment, selection, and training of the housekeeping aides as related to their job duties.
Schedule departmental working hours, personnel, and assignments.
Complete employee evaluations on either an annual basis or post probationary period; as well as provide counsel or disciplinary action when appropriate.
Serve on various committees as requested by Administrator.
Ability to function as a Team Leader/Role Model.
Review Cantex Continuing Care Network Policy and Procedures for Abuse Prevention and know the employees responsibility to enforce it.
Attend weekly in-services, understand, and comply with Patient Care Management Systems.
Responsible for assuring patient/resident safety.
Perform other duties and tasks as assigned.
