About The Position

Koniag Advisory and Business Solutions, LLC, a Koniag Government Services company, is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor II to support KABS and our government customer in Pryor, MT. This position is covered under the Service Contract Act. The Housekeeper Supervisor II leads a team responsible for safe, effective, and patient-centered cleaning and disinfection across inpatient, outpatient, procedural, and support areas. This role schedules and supervises shift-based operations (24/7), ensures compliance with infection prevention standards, supports survey readiness, and partners with Nursing, Infection Prevention (IP), Facilities, and Tribal leadership to maintain a clean, healing environment that respects Tribal culture and community priorities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required plus 6-8 years of progressive supervisory experience.
  • EVS/bed-tracking systems (e.g., ADT integration for discharge clean requests), mobile dispatch, and basic CMMS use for work orders.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365/Google Workspace for schedules, audits, and reporting dashboards.
  • Use of cleaning validation tools (fluorescent gel, checklists; ATP if utilized by the hospital).
  • Timekeeping/scheduling systems and vendor portals for supply and linen management.
  • Joint Commission Environment of Care (EC) & Infection Control (IC), CMS CoPs, and hospital infection prevention policies.
  • OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Communication, PPE, ergonomics; hospital/Tribal policies for regulated medical waste and chemical storage.
  • Isolation cleaning workflows, terminal cleaning, equipment disinfection, hand hygiene support, and construction/ICRA coordination with Facilities.
  • Staff competencies, training records, daily/weekly/monthly cleaning logs, discharge turnaround metrics, audit results, and corrective actions.
  • Frequent standing/walking; repetitive reaching, bending, and kneeling; pushing/pulling carts up to ~75–100 lbs; lifting up to ~35–50 lbs with assistance as needed.
  • Tolerate PPE (gloves, gowns, eye/face protection, respirators as required) and exposure to cleaning agents and biohazards.
  • Ability to respond quickly across campus, including using stairs and navigating confined spaces.
  • Leadership & coaching: Clear expectations, fair workload assignment, real-time feedback, recognition, and accountability.
  • Operational planning: Prioritize discharge cleans; balance routine vs. isolation vs. specialty cleaning; manage cross-coverage between shifts.
  • Infection prevention literacy: Applies isolation tiers and product contact times; escalate promptly to IP when needed.
  • Communication: Calm, respectful, and concise communication with clinicians, patients, Tribal leadership, and the EVS team.
  • Cultural competence: Demonstrates respect for Tribal customs and community values.
  • Problem solving: Rapidly addresses staffing gaps, equipment failures, or supply issues with workable interim plans.
  • Customer service: Maintains a hospitality mindset that supports patient experience (e.g., HCAHPS cleanliness domain).
  • Discharge/transfer turnaround time: Meet or exceed SLA targets by shift and unit.
  • Cleaning quality: ≥ 90–95% audit pass rate (checklists; fluorescent gel/ATP where used) and timely corrective actions.
  • Infection prevention support: Zero high-risk findings attributable to EVS during EOC/IP rounds; rapid isolation cleaning compliance.
  • Patient experience: Upward trend in “cleanliness of hospital environment” scores.
  • Safety: Zero serious safety events; completion of required safety/IP trainings on time.
  • Workforce health: Stable staffing, reduced absenteeism/turnover; completed performance reviews and competencies by due dates.
  • Cost & stewardship: Supplies/linen usage within budget; reduced rework and waste.

Nice To Haves

  • B.S plus 2–4+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of healthcare cleaning/disinfection protocols, isolation workflows, and terminal cleaning.
  • Familiarity with hospital surveys (Joint Commission/CMS), EOC rounding, and corrective action tracking.
  • Experience supervising multiple shifts and high-priority turnaround (ED, PACU, OR, inpatient).
  • Bilingual or cross-cultural communication skills a plus; experience working with Tribal organizations preferred.
  • Relevant credentials desired (e.g., CHEST, CMIP, CHESP, or equivalent training).
  • Associate’s in management, hospitality, or related field preferred or equivalent military/technical leadership experience plus 2-4 years of progressive supervisory experience.
  • Completion of hospital-required supervisor and infection prevention training within onboarding period.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and assigns work to subordinates, set priorities, establish work unit goals and objectives, establish work schedules from completion of work for housekeeping department.
  • Coordination with linen supplier to ensure clean linens for CSU. Reconcile monthly tickets/invoice for payment.
  • Conducts training with staff to ensure all staff are following infection control procedures.
  • Provides orientation for new staff and annual orientation to incumbent staff
  • Communicate with staff on work assignments and expectations.
  • Communicates with administration on all matters concerning department including employee complaint, operational challenges.
  • Perform quality checks with infection control/quality personnel, Serves on safety and infection control committees
  • Responsible for ordering supplies and maintaining equipment (vacuum cleaners, floor scrubbers, etc.)
  • Responsible for contracts for services and products.
  • Hire, train, coach, and evaluate EVS staff; run shift huddles; set daily assignments; manage attendance and performance; foster a respectful, safety-first culture aligned with Indian Preference policies.
  • Oversee routine, isolation, and terminal cleaning of patient rooms; discharge/transfer turnaround; OR/procedural room cleaning per policy; public/common area cleaning; floor care; waste handling.
  • Enforce isolation precautions and cleaning workflows (e.g., C. diff/Contact Plus); validate cleaning (fluorescent gel/ATP where used); collaborate with IP on audits, water events, and outbreaks.
  • Maintain survey-ready documentation (policies, training, competencies, logs, audits); support Joint Commission/CMS/IHS/OSHA/EOC rounds and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure proper use of EPA-registered disinfectants, dilution systems, microfiber, UV or adjunct technologies (if used); maintain carts, autoscrubbers/burnishers, and spare inventories.
  • Coordinate with Nursing/Admitting on discharge priorities; meet or beat bed-turnover SLAs and communicate delays/escalations.
  • Enforce PPE, bloodborne pathogen standards, sharps awareness, hazard communication/SDS access, ergonomics, and incident reporting.
  • Build shift schedules and rotations; manage meal/break coverage; approve timecards; coordinate agency/temp staff when required.
  • Oversee linen, mat, and waste vendors; verify service levels and invoices; support supply forecasting and cost control.
  • Ensure practices respect Tribal customs and spaces; encourage local hiring and skills transfer.
