About The Position

The Housekeeping Steward / Houseman maintains cleanliness and guest satisfaction by cleaning designated hotel areas and helping deliver memorable guest experiences. The role includes maintaining public spaces and supporting housekeeping operations, guest requests, room cleaning, periodic deep-cleaning projects, and reporting maintenance needs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry.
• Knowledge of housekeeping’s daily operations on guest floors.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to consistently meet cleanliness and presentation standards.
• Ability to manage tasks efficiently and meet deadlines.
• Basic verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
• Willingness to work shifts, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment use, and safety protocols.
• Demonstrates hospitality, integrity, leadership, teamwork, ownership, accountability, urgency, and discipline.

Responsibilities

• Maintain designated public areas, including restrooms, hallways, stairwells, elevators, offices, and event spaces, through daily cleaning tasks such as dusting and polishing furniture, vacuuming and mopping floors, washing windows, and emptying trash.
• Greet guests warmly, deliver requested items, and assist with room cleaning as needed.
• Stock and organize supply rooms to support efficient housekeeping operations.
• Perform periodic deep-cleaning tasks, including flipping mattresses, moving furniture, and waxing floors.
• Identify and report repair needs or maintenance deficiencies.
