About The Position

Neighborhood Health Association is seeking Housekeeping Staff to maintain a clean, sanitary, and comfortable environment in its clinics. The Housekeeper works under the general supervision of the Housekeeping Manager, following established work-duty checklists and cleaning schedules and adhering to infection-control standards. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday, and involves traveling between three to four NHA locations per day in the employee’s insured personal vehicle; mileage is reimbursed. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required for a special event. The role includes heavy physical work and use of cleaning, laundry, and office equipment.

Requirements

Have an independent personal vehicle for travel between three to four NHA locations per day; mileage is reimbursed.
Personal vehicle must be insured.
Have a valid driver's license.
Be able to perform the stated physical activities, including standing, sitting, walking, handling or feeling with hands and fingers, climbing, stooping, kneeling or crouching, talking and hearing, seeing, reaching, and repetitive motion.
Be able to perform heavy work involving exertion of up to 100 pounds occasionally, up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 20 pounds constantly.

Responsibilities

Sweep, scrub, mop, and polish floors.
Vacuum and clean carpets and rugs.
Dust and polish furniture and fittings.
Empty and clean trash containers and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
Clean wash basins, mirrors, and showers.
Wipe down glass surfaces and wash windows as scheduled.
Sort, wash, load, and unload laundry; fold and put away clean laundry.
Operate mechanical cleaning equipment, including washer and dryer machines.
Maintain cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition.
Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements.
Know the organization's Fire and Disaster plan and the Housekeeping Staff's role in that plan.
Perform other duties as assigned.
