About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and sanitary environment within office spaces, break rooms, kitchens, and restrooms. The Housekeeping Service Worker will perform general cleaning tasks, dust and sanitize surfaces, manage waste, and ensure all areas are well-maintained. Additional duties include assisting with building security, monitoring cleaning supply inventory, reporting minor maintenance issues, and adhering to health and safety protocols. The position requires trustworthiness, professionalism, and the ability to work independently.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a cleaning, janitorial, or similar role is required.
  • Experience with professional cleaning products, equipment, and methods are required.
  • A keen eye for detail to ensure all areas are thoroughly cleaned and sanitized.
  • The ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently within a set schedule.
  • The ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25–50 pounds for extended periods is needed.
  • Dependable and punctual, with a strong work ethic.
  • The ability to work alone with minimal supervision while staying on task.
  • Good communication skills to understand instructions and report any issues.
  • The ability to work collaboratively if a team is assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors in office and lobby areas.
  • Dust and sanitize all surfaces, including desks, tables, ledges, windowsills, and high-touch points like door handles and light switches.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins, replace liners, and transport waste to the designated disposal area.
  • Perform daily vacuuming of carpeted areas and sweep and mop hard floors, especially in high-traffic zones.
  • Clean and polish interior glass partitions, doors, and mirrors.
  • Wipe down the exterior of appliances in break rooms and kitchens, and clean the inside of microwaves.
  • Disinfect countertops, tables, chairs, and sanitize sinks and faucets in break rooms.
  • Perform weekly deep cleaning of break rooms, including cleaning the inside of the refrigerator and spot cleaning cabinet fronts.
  • Clean and disinfect toilets, urinals, sinks, and countertops in restrooms.
  • Restock paper products and soap dispensers in restrooms.
  • Wipe down and sanitize bathroom partitions, door handles, and fixtures.
  • Sweep and mop restroom floors with disinfectants, paying attention to grout lines.
  • Ensure designated doors and windows are securely locked and report any security concerns.
  • Monitor and report low cleaning supply levels to management.
  • Report potential maintenance issues such as leaky faucets, clogged drains, or burned-out light bulbs to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols regarding cleaning chemicals, equipment, and PPE, and report spills or hazards promptly.
