About The Position

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, managing, and overseeing the entire housekeeping program for a 291-bed healthcare facility. Ensuring a clean, safe and sanitary environment while supervising housekeeping personnel and maintaining compliance with facility standards and regulations.

Requirements

  • 24 months training or 24 months experience in cleaning practices & procedures
  • 18 months training or 18 months experience in supervisory principles/techniques
  • 18 months training or 18 months experience in inventory control
  • Custodial Technical Skills
  • Management Professional Skills: Conflict Management, Coaching, Attention to Detail, Developing Others, Teamwork, Adaptability, Analyzation
  • Official transcripts are required for all post-secondary education, coursework, or degrees listed on the application.

Responsibilities

  • Manages housekeeping services for all patient care units, treatment areas, administrative offices and support departments
  • Ensures patient rooms, seclusion rooms, treatment spaces and common areas are maintained in a clean condition
  • Establish departmental goals, priorities and performance expectations
  • Promote a culture of accountability, teamwork, safety and continuous improvement
  • Ensure consistent application of hospital policies and procedure
  • Recruit, interview, onboard, train and mentor all housekeeping personnel
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching and professional development
  • Ensure proper cleaning and disinfection practices are followed throughout the hospital
  • Monitor the safe handling, storage and use of cleaning chemicals and hazardous material
  • Promote compliance with infection prevention policy and occupational safety regulation
  • Ensure staff utilizes personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Maintain inventory of housekeeping equipment, cleaning supplies, chemicals, and personal protective equipment
  • Conduct and monitor inventory of linen
  • Oversee maintenance and replacement of housekeeping equipment
