About The Position

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for the overall supervision of the housekeeping department, ensuring cleanliness of rooms to DKN Hotels’ standards. This role involves assisting in hiring, training, coaching, and supervising the housekeeping team. The manager will also plan work schedules, control costs, manage supplies and inventory, and oversee master room keys and the Lost & Found Department. The position requires maintaining a friendly and courteous demeanor while providing personalized service to hotel guests and communicating effectively with team members. The role involves performing routine room inspections, reporting maintenance issues, assisting with laundry, and collaborating with other departments to ensure optimal hotel performance. The manager must adhere to DKN Hotels’ policies and procedures, demonstrating independent judgment within established guidelines.

Requirements

  • Minimum of two (2) years hotel experience as a head housekeeper or progressive housekeeping responsibility.
  • Knowledge and safe use of housekeeping and laundry cleaning agents and hotel housekeeping operations.
  • Bilingual.
  • Supervision and training skills.
  • Ability to maintain good team member relations.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize and delegate work assignments.
  • Ability to direct performance of team members and follow-up with correction where needed.
  • Must be aware of the importance of safety and security.
  • Endeavor to be conscious of safety and security at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times, while providing personalized service to hotel guests.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and fellow team members.
  • Be proficient at all Housekeeping systems and processes.
  • Perform routine room inspections ensuring cleanliness of rooms to DKN Hotels’ standards.
  • Assist in the hiring of housekeeping team members.
  • Train, coach and supervise housekeeping team.
  • Conduct weekly meetings.
  • On a weekly basis, plan and complete work schedule for housekeeping team.
  • Control housekeeping costs.
  • Control room supplies, order supplies and take/keep inventory.
  • Ensure housekeeping team is properly dressed and complying with safety practices and procedures.
  • Control master room keys. Never leave the property with keys.
  • Control and maintain Lost & Found Department.
  • Report any maintenance items that need immediate attention.
  • Assist with laundry as needed.
  • Provide assistance to other team members and departments to contribute to the best overall performance of the department and hotel.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, requested or deemed necessary by management.
