About The Position

The Oaks Post Acute is a pristine 122-bed skilled nursing facility located in the heart of Orangeburg, SC. Our mission is to provide outstanding care while fostering a positive, supportive environment where both our residents and employees thrive. This is a full-time Housekeeping & Laundry Aide position. The role involves cleaning and maintaining resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility areas. Responsibilities include vacuuming, mopping, dusting, sanitizing, and keeping areas neat and fresh. The role also involves collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and distributing resident and facility laundry. The ideal candidate will follow proper cleaning and infection-control procedures, keep housekeeping and laundry areas clean and organized, and help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents. Treating residents, families, and coworkers with kindness and respect is essential. The Housekeeper plays a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment for residents, staff, and visitors. This position ensures that all areas of the facility are free of obstacles, odors, and debris, contributing to the overall health and comfort of those in our care.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous housekeeping or laundry experience is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person!
  • Previous housekeeping experience in healthcare or long-term care setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and maintain resident rooms, common areas, offices, and other facility areas
  • Vacuum, mop, dust, sanitize, and keep areas neat and fresh
  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute resident and facility laundry
  • Follow proper cleaning and infection-control procedures
  • Keep housekeeping and laundry areas clean and organized
  • Help maintain a safe and comfortable environment for residents
  • Treat residents, families, and coworkers with kindness and respect
  • Clean and maintain public and common areas including lobbies, restrooms, drinking fountains, and floors.
  • Ensure resident rooms and bathrooms are cleaned and sanitized regularly.
  • Wipe down handrails to keep them free of dust and debris.
  • Remove dirt, dust, and food from walls, mirrors, windows, light fixtures, towel bars, and dispensers.
  • Empty trash cans and replace liners as needed.
  • Sweep and mop floors throughout the facility.
  • Follow safety protocols, including using caution signage and storing chemicals securely.
  • Operate cleaning equipment and use supplies according to manufacturer instructions.
  • Keep housekeeping carts, equipment, and storage areas clean, organized, and sanitary.
  • Report any resident safety concerns immediately to the Director of Housekeeping, Administrator, or Director of Nursing.
  • Notify the Director of Housekeeping when supplies need replenishment.
