About The Position
Our Housekeeping/Laundry Aides perform cleaning operations designed to keep the Home in a clean, neat and tidy condition at all times and in accordance with established preventative maintenance and procedures. This includes, but is not limited to, dusting, mopping cleaning walls/floors/windows/doors, maintaining carpets, cleaning resident living corridors and washrooms, all while working in a manner and with the protective devices, measures and procedures required by the County of Elgin and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
Requirements
- Good communication skills
- Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening that is satisfactory to the County of Elgin.
- Satisfactory 2-step Tuberculosis (TB) screening documentation.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in institutional housekeeping preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform cleaning operations to maintain the Home in a clean, neat, and tidy condition.
- Dusting, mopping, cleaning walls, floors, windows, and doors.
- Maintaining carpets.
- Cleaning resident living corridors and washrooms.
- Working in accordance with established preventative maintenance and procedures.
- Utilizing protective devices, measures, and procedures as required by the County of Elgin and the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.
