About The Position

The Housekeeping Inspector is responsible for ensuring guest rooms are cleaned and maintained to hotel standards. This role involves inspecting rooms, stocking supplies, performing cleaning tasks, and providing excellent guest service. The inspector must be detail-oriented, efficient, and able to work in a fast-paced environment while adhering to hotel policies and procedures.

Requirements

High school education or equivalent experience.
Knowledge of housekeeping principles and practices along with proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Ability to follow an appropriate course of action based on policies and procedures.
Ability to operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment.
Attention to detail with good organizational and efficient time management skills.
Display consistent professional leadership with effective listening and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, sometimes under pressure, while simultaneously handling competing and changing priorities.
Ability to satisfy the legal requirements for employment within the jurisdiction.
Extended periods of standing and/or walking.
Bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, kneeling.
Lifting up to 50 pounds.
Close vision with or without corrective lenses.
May be required to operate a motor vehicle.

Responsibilities

Receive room assignments, priority room requests, keys, and supplies from housekeeping management.
Review room assignments, retrieve and stock caddie/cart to ensure all supplies, linen, and amenities are available to clean guest rooms properly.
Turn in keys, properly store and secure caddie/cart and unused supplies at the end of shift.
Cleans and self-inspects guest rooms as assigned and in accordance with hotel standards.
Stocks guest rooms with appropriate supplies in accordance with policies, procedures, and brand standards.
Change linens and towels, make beds, scrub bathroom, vacuum, mop, dust, wash windows, mirrors, and walls, remove trash, place amenities, etc.
Perform quality check on the television, telephone, heating/air conditioning, and lights.
Appropriate and proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Prompt reports to housekeeping management of all emergencies, injuries, missing articles, damage, mechanical problems, and safety hazards.
Promptly turn in all articles left in guest rooms after checkout to housekeeping management for entry into Lost and Found.
Perform duties of Lobby Attendant or Laundry Attendant as assigned.
On time and at work when scheduled and in proper uniform.
Report any incidents of guest dissatisfaction or unusual matters of significance to the manager/supervisor so that corrective action may be taken.
Comply with policies and procedures.
Practice safe work habits and comply with sanitary, safety, security, and emergency procedures.
Check with the manager/supervisor before leaving work at the end of your shift.
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Provides genuine hospitality and recognition in the work area.
Promotes hotel services and products.
Anticipates guest needs and takes ownership of guest concerns and requests; acts decisively to ensure guest satisfaction.
Offers a special service touch when an opportunity is presented.
Ensure compliance with proper cleaning techniques, procedures, brand standards, and regulations.
Ensure proper use of cleaning equipment and supplies.
Display consistent professional and positive attitude when communicating with guests and associates.
Report any incidents of guest dissatisfaction or matters of significance to the manager/supervisor so that corrective measures may be taken.
Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.
Any other duties / tasks as requested by management.
