About The Position

This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of guest rooms, public areas, and the hotel premises. The housekeeper will respond to guest requests, identify and report maintenance issues, and ensure all hotel property is kept to a high standard. This position requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to work efficiently in a hotel environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods.
  • Knowledge of cleaning sensitive materials.
  • Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment.
  • Physical stamina and mobility including ability to reach, kneel and bend.
  • Ability to lift, push and pull required load (Up to 30lbs).
  • Previous housekeeping experience preferred, however, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Clean corridors, lobbies, stairways, and guest rooms.
  • Organize work schedule based on room status, arrivals, and departures.
  • Distribute linen, towels, and room supplies.
  • Make up beds and cots.
  • Restock room supplies such as drinking glasses, soaps, shampoos, writing supplies, and mini bar items.
  • Replace dirty linens with clean ones.
  • Inspect and turn mattresses regularly.
  • Store all dirty laundry according to company policy.
  • Monitor guest laundry bags and replace them as needed.
  • Check that all appliances in rooms are in working order.
  • Realign furniture and amenities according to the prescribed layout.
  • Respond to guest queries and requests.
  • Address housekeeping issues such as spills and broken glasses.
  • Deliver requested housekeeping items to guest rooms.
  • Remove room service items.
  • Organize and restock the cart at the end of the shift.
  • Ensure the confidentiality and security of guest rooms.
  • Follow all company safety and security procedures.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards.
  • Observe and report any damage to hotel property.
  • Wash and fold laundry for the next day.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the laundry room to avoid pests.
