About The Position

We have immediate openings for a full-time housekeeper for 1st shift at our main building on Yellow Springs Street. This position is part of the environmental services team for our main building and acute care unit. This is a FT, 1st shift position, requiring E/O weekend and holiday rotations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • NVCI/De-escalation required (provided at hire)
  • CPR (BLS)/First Aid (provided at hire)
  • Ohio BCI check (FBI check required if you have lived in Ohio for less than 5 years, or for working with children)
  • 5-panel drug screen
  • 2 step TB (or proof of prior TB) upon conditional offer of employment

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in a healthcare facility preferred

Responsibilities

  • Cleans facility, including dusting, vacuuming, emptying trash, washing wall and windows and overall upkeep of the facility.
  • May be required to assist with other buildings in the organization as needed.
  • Moves furniture, desks, and cabinets in order to clean the facilities.
  • Performs security check on main facility at night, checking to make sure doors are locked.
  • Serves as security person for evening at main facility, and assists with agitated or unruly clients.
  • Provides security to staff leaving the building after hours.
  • Clears sidewalks during inclement weather, including throwing salt/ice melt and clearing sidewalks as needed.
  • Operates scrubber, extracting machine, and vacuum cleaner.
  • Conducts work so as to produce minimal disturbances to patients and staff.
  • Keeps current on annual DOT training and certification.
  • Follows all universal precautions for safety, infection control and follows all state, federal and joint commission health and safety standards.
  • Treats patients and family with dignity and respect at all times, and holds all patient information in the strictest confidence.
  • Adhere to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state and local requirements and Joint Commission standards, including National Patient Safety Goals.
  • Presents a positive image of MHSCC to other community agencies, caregivers and citizens.
  • Completes all MHS required education and training, including initial agency orientation, mandatory trainings and educations, and up keep of all required certifications and licensure as required by state, federal and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrates organizational stewardship and exemplifies the mission, vision and values of MHS.
  • Performs other job-related tasks as assigned
