Housekeeping Attendant (Swing Shift)
About The Position
Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for Environmental Services Attendants / Housekeepers for swing shift in their newly renovated facility. The role involves performing a variety of general and moderately complex cleaning tasks in assigned specialty areas to provide a safe and attractive environment for patients and staff. This position maintains environmental and infection control standards, follows Operating Room standards for turnover and terminal cleaning of procedure rooms, works with floor maintenance equipment and chemicals, handles hazardous materials for disposal, and assists with conference room setups and linen distribution, collection, and tracking.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year full-time, wage-earning housekeeping experience, preferably in a commercial or healthcare setting.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
- Must successfully complete annual in-service training requirements to include physical agility test and pass an annual background check.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and services patient rooms, offices and common areas, following cleaning procedures and checking off a list after completion of each room.
- Sweeps, mops, waxes all floors using clean water, sanitized mops and accurately uses floor polishers.
- Provides supplies (tissues, paper towels, soap, etc.) to areas as needed.
- Appropriately disposes of trash and medical waste from all areas of the hospital, maintaining trash cans sanitized with new liner, tie and disposing trash in compactor.
- Moves furniture and exercises safety procedures to avoid damage to furniture or walls.
- Cleans assigned areas using proper solutions, equipment and techniques, using properly labeled chemicals.
- Cleans equipment after each use and stores it neatly in a designated area.
- Checks cleaning supplies each day before going to area and exercises responsibility in the use of supplies.
- Works overtime when directed to do so.
- Regular and predictable attendance required.
- Performs other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
