About The Position

The Courtyard by Marriott Burlington Hotel is looking for Housekeeping Associates to join our team. The hotel features 135 guestrooms and suites with 1800 sq. ft. of flexible meeting space, indoor salt-water pool, state-of-the-art fitness centre, and on-site Bistro Restaurant, Lounge & Patio. Your warm personality, work ethics and excellent customer service skills will reflect how our guests perceive the hotel. This hotel is owned and operated by an independent franchisee, Burloak Hospitality Limited. The franchisee is a separate company and a separate employer from Marriott International, Inc. The franchisee solely controls all aspects of the hotel’s employment policies and practices, including hiring, firing, discipline, staffing, compensation, benefits, and all other terms and conditions of employment. If you accept a position at this hotel, you will be employed by a franchisee and not by Marriott International, Inc.

Requirements

  • Proven cleaning ability with full attention to details
  • Approachable, pleasant, polite, fast
  • Must be able to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays
  • Self-starter and able to work with minimum supervision
  • Must be able to understand both oral and written English
  • Must be legally permitted to work in Canada

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum one (1) year experience in housekeeping department of a focused service or full-service hotel preferred
  • Knowledge of cleaning techniques and products an asset

Responsibilities

  • Clean and service assigned rooms and areas according to the established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash etc.
  • Handle and store chemicals in line with hotel regulations and any local legislative requirements
  • Be aware of and ensure adherence to the Hotel’s policy regarding security of bedrooms and master keys
  • Report guest issues to the appropriate department
  • Deal with guest requests in a courteous, prompt, and professional manner
  • Work and communicate in a professional and ethical manner with colleagues assisting where necessary to develop team spirit and to achieve standards of work and guest care as required by Hotel policy
  • Maintain standards of punctuality, uniform and personal hygiene as required by Hotel policy
  • Follow all safety and security procedures and regulations while performing daily duties
  • Perform additional duties as assigned or directed by management (laundry, public areas, etc.)
