Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and assuring uncompromising levels of cleanliness in work areas, buildings and grounds.
  • Maintaining an attractive and comfortable home in an environment consistent with regulations and established policies and procedures.
  • Cleaning resident rooms and common areas.
  • Respecting resident time and property; treating them with courtesy and respecting their personal belongings.
  • Maintaining effective communication systems with all customers and co-workers.
  • Cleaning designated areas such as resident living spaces, common areas, and other areas as assigned.
  • General cleaning, floor care, washing, sanitizing, polishing furniture/fixtures, waste removal, stocking supplies, cleaning windows, collecting laundry from resident rooms and designated areas, sorting, distributing linens, and resident personal clothing per assigned schedule, ironing articles as required, inspecting laundry and linen, informing supervisor of replacement needs for communication with residents/families.
  • Ensuring that housekeeping and laundry supplies are replenished in work areas.
  • Ensuring that equipment, tools, and supplies are cleaned and properly stored at the end of each shift.
  • Actively participating in Heartwood activities, meetings and processes.
  • Collaborating with other staff to promote the overall cleanliness of the building and the residents’ total well-being.
  • Assisting in the orientation of new team members as assigned.
  • Assisting fellow team members with the completion of their work when assigned or needed.
  • Following established policies, procedures and practices.
  • Completing job responsibilities efficiently and effectively.
  • Pacing work according to a schedule in order to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Providing proper documentation of work per established procedures.
  • Using and supporting the quality process to meet customer needs.
  • Applying the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully perform all job functions.
  • Being knowledgeable of chemicals and equipment and how to use them safely.
  • Maintaining knowledge of organization and industry policies and practices.
  • Demonstrating good stewardship of available resources (supplies, utilities, time).
  • Assisting with tracking, receiving, and monitoring of equipment and supplies.
