About The Position

Cadence Education is seeking a dependable, energetic Housekeeping Assistant to support daily operations at a preschool in Orange, Connecticut. The position focuses on meal-service support, dishwashing, laundry, stocking supplies, cleaning, and helping move food and supplies throughout the school. Light food preparation may be involved, but cooking is not the primary focus. This is a fast-paced, physical, hands-on role involving movement throughout a large preschool building. The assistant helps keep food-service areas, common areas, classrooms, and restrooms clean and organized, and may provide classroom support as needed. The schedule is part-time, Monday through Friday, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Hourly pay is $17.00–$20.00, based on education and experience, with on-demand pay available through UKG Wallet.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
Minimum age of 18 years.
Previous housekeeping experience.
Able to work independently and manage a daily routine efficiently.
Comfortable standing and moving throughout the school for much of the day.
Able to safely lift and transport food containers, laundry, supplies, and trash.
Works well as part of a team and communicates effectively.
Understands the importance of cleanliness and sanitation in a childcare environment.
Dependable, organized, efficient, and willing to help where needed.

Nice To Haves

Experience in food service, childcare, housekeeping, school operations, hospitality, or a similar support role.

Responsibilities

Wash, sanitize, dry, and put away dishes and kitchen equipment.
Complete school laundry, including washing, drying, folding, and distributing clean items.
Take out trash and maintain clean, sanitary food-service areas.
Stock food, beverages, paper products, and other supplies.
Follow food-safety, sanitation, and allergy procedures.
Keep carts, counters, sinks, equipment, and work areas clean and organized.
Support other food-service and operational tasks as needed.
Clean common areas, including the lobby, restrooms, classrooms, and hallways.
Provide classroom support as needed.
Perform housekeeping tasks such as cleaning equipment and sanitizing toys.
