About The Position

White Oak at North Grove is seeking a full-time housekeeping aide for their beautiful 132-bed facility in Spartanburg, SC. The role involves implementing facility housekeeping procedures efficiently and cost-effectively to meet resident needs while complying with all federal, state, and local requirements. The position requires the ability to follow instructions, maintain good personal hygiene, and cooperate with colleagues. Aides must be respectful of residents, minimize noise, and never rush residents. They must knock before entering rooms and explain their presence, and should only clean a room after receiving permission from nursing personnel. The role also requires adherence to HIPAA minimum necessary guidelines to safeguard protected health information.

Responsibilities

  • Follows cleaning schedule (i.e., daily, weekly, monthly) as outlined.
  • Cleans assigned areas, furnishings, and fixtures according to established housekeeping procedures.
  • Cleans floors, dry mops, wet mops, and sweeps.
  • Disinfects where and when necessary.
  • Performs emergency housekeeping where accidents occur.
  • Cleans moveable and stationary furnishings and fixtures; dusts, spot cleans, washes, disinfects when necessary, and polishes when required.
  • Cleans ledges, shelves, and vents.
  • Empties and cleans ashtrays.
  • Empties, cleans, and relines wastebaskets, and straightens or rearranges furniture as directed.
  • Inspects furnishings for wear and defects and reports to supervisor.
  • Vacuums carpets and sweeps throughout the building daily.
  • Cleans bathrooms (i.e., resident and public), including all fixtures, floors, and walls as directed.
  • Washes mirrors, soap, and paper towel dispensers.
  • Replenishes bathroom supplies.
  • Cleans walls, windows, doors, and ceilings, and spot cleans between washings.
  • Cleans walls, ceilings, and ceiling fixtures as scheduled.
  • Performs terminal cleaning duties according to established procedures in resident rooms when a resident has been discharged or transferred and prepares the room for a new occupant.
  • Removes waste and disposes of waste and trash.
  • Reports observations concerning structural and equipment wear, defects, and malfunctioning to the supervisor.
  • Reports supply and equipment needs to the Supervisor for replenishing.
  • Maintains equipment used in performing duties.
