About The Position

This position is responsible for responding promptly to requests from guests and other departments, identifying and reporting maintenance issues, and posting caution signs. The role involves delivering guest requests, setting up furniture, and removing items from hallways such as debris, room service trays, unread newspapers, soiled linens, and trash. The Housekeeping Aide will also clean, maintain, and store cleaning equipment, and adhere to all company and safety policies. This includes reporting maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries, and completing safety training. The role requires maintaining a clean and professional appearance, ensuring confidentiality, and welcoming guests according to company standards. Additionally, the position involves anticipating and addressing guest needs, assisting individuals with disabilities, and thanking guests with appreciation. Communication should be clear and professional, with a focus on supporting team goals and meeting quality expectations. Physical requirements include the ability to lift and move objects up to 55 pounds without assistance and over 55 pounds with assistance, push and pull loaded housekeeping carts, reach overhead and below the knees, and perform tasks requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination. The role also involves moving through narrow or elevated spaces, climbing ladders, and standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking for extended periods.

Requirements

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to push and pull a loaded a housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.

Responsibilities

  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.

  • Post caution signs.
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
  • Deliver guest requests and set up furniture items in guest rooms as requested.
  • Remove items from hallways and transport to service areas, including debris, room service food and beverage trays, unread newspapers, soiled linens, and trash placed near Housekeeper carts.
  • Clean, maintain, and store cleaning equipment.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
  • Complete safety training and certifications.
  • Properly store flammable materials.
  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
