About The Position

Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent girls’ boarding and day school for grades 7-12, seeks a full-time year-round Housekeeper, effective immediately. Located in the Pioneer Valley, a short drive from the Five College Consortium (UMass Amherst, Smith, Mount Holyoke, Hampshire, and Amherst College), Stoneleigh-Burnham School is the only girls’ school in New England to offer the IB Diploma Programme and attracts students from the local area and around the world. Requirements

• Must be able to work well both in a team environment and independently.
• Must have the ability to recognize problems as they arise and bring them to the attention of the Chief Financial Officer.
• Must be able to follow safety guidelines and exercise good judgment in all aspects of responsibility.

Responsibilities

• Cleans lounges, rest rooms, corridors, stairways, laundry rooms, and offices.
• Sweeps and mops floors and vacuums rugs and draperies.
• Dusts furniture and removes cobwebs.
• Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
• Spot washes walls and woodwork as needed.
• Empties wastebaskets and recycles.
• Transports trash and waste to disposal and /or recycling area.
• Carpet spills are spot cleaned ASAP to prevent permanent stains.
• Dishes and glasses are picked up as needed.
• Replenishes bathroom supplies.
• All other duties as assigned: Including backup of people absent due to illness or vacation.
• Special functions including Reunion, Summer Camp, visitors, etc
