Housekeeper (FT-Days)
About The Position
This position involves cleaning various areas including offices, departments, corridors, waiting areas, stairwells, elevators, patient rooms, and treatment areas. The role also includes handling and properly disposing of waste, ensuring all areas meet The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards, protecting equipment, and notifying supervisors of any issues. The housekeeper will manage consumable stock levels, adhere to health and safety regulations, and work independently to maintain a high level of performance. This role requires prioritization, time management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment without compromising quality.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred
- Prior experience as a cleaner or housekeeper is preferred
- Customer-oriented and friendly
- Potential of needing a valid NYS Driver License- May be asked to drive to sites for business-related activity.
- The employee will be on their feet most of the day.
- A great deal of lifting is involved up to 50 lbs.
- Knowledge of the English language
- Ability to measure cleaning supplies
- Must be able to work in a harmonious manner with all other departments.
- Must be able to map out assignments and complete them in a timely manner.
Responsibilities
- Performing a variety of cleaning activities such as sweeping, mopping, dusting, and polishing.
- Ensuring all rooms and department areas are cared for and inspected according to The Joint Commission (TJC) Standards.
- Protecting equipment and making sure there are no inadequacies.
- Notify supervisor of any damages, deficits, and disturbances.
- Deal with reasonable complaints/requests with professionalism and patience.
- Check stocking levels of all consumables and replace them when appropriate.
- Adhere strictly to rules and regarding health and safety.
- Will handle the waste.
- Ability to work with little supervision and maintain a high level of performance.
- Prioritization and time management skills.
- Working in a fast pace environment without compromising quality
