About The Position
This part-time Housekeeper position at HI Banff Alpine Centre is more than just cleaning; it's about being part of a team dedicated to maintaining high standards of cleanliness to ensure the hostel is welcoming for guests. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness throughout the property, ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment. This role operates in a dynamic, customer-focused environment, emphasizing efficiency and excellent service. Basic English is required. The position is with a not-for-profit organization that embraces sustainable tourism and values a healthy work-life balance, with opportunities for professional development in areas like leadership, risk management, and service recovery.
Requirements
- Prior housekeeping experience in hostels or hotels is ideal but not a requirement; training will be provided.
- Ability to be on your feet for 6-7 hours every day.
- Understanding the importance of the housekeeping department's role in delivering a great guest experience.
- Attention to detail.
- Great energy and ability to enjoy a laugh during busy shifts.
- Ability to balance professionalism with personality.
- Basic English proficiency.
- Successful candidates will be subject to comprehensive background checks, including employment verification, reference checks, educational qualifications verification, and criminal record checks where applicable.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining cleanliness around the entire property.
- Ensuring a comfortable and welcoming environment for guests.
- Changing beds and doing laundry.
- Contributing to the team's pride in high standards of cleanliness.
