About The Position

This role is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe environment within the hospital. Key duties include waste disposal, cleaning and restocking restrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and performing patient interviews regarding environmental services expectations. The Housekeeper also handles additional cleaning tasks related to patient discharges or transfers, including the removal of equipment, supplies, and soiled linen. They are also responsible for following up on patient and staff concerns.

Requirements

H.S. Diploma or Equivalent preferred
6 months of Hospital or Hotel cleaning experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

Empty, clean and reline trash containers.
Properly dispose of all waste including biohazardous materials.
Assist supervisor with training new hires and in-service training with staff.
Clean restrooms, restocking dispensers.
Dust hard surface floors/vacuum carpets.
Perform patient interviews on incoming and discharging patients to inform them of the expectations from the EVS department.
Additional cleaning and bed making as required by patient discharge or transfer to include removal of clinical support equipment and supplies as well as soiled linen.
Follows-up on complaints and concerns made by patients, family members and staff.
