About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. This role is crucial for maintaining the hotel's standard of spotless cleanliness and ensuring guest satisfaction. The Housekeeper will perform pre-cleaning duties, thoroughly clean and restock assigned guest rooms, and undertake additional cleaning projects as directed by their supervisor.

  • Must arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate supervisor.
  • Must clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Must provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.
  • Regularly required to carry out physical working demands such as stooping, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, standing for sustained periods, walking, performing repetitive motions of wrists, hands, and/or fingers, and lifting housekeeping items like linens, trash, or vacuums.

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all pre-cleaning duties including stocking room supplies and tools on the assigned work cart, attending the morning stand-up meeting, and folding or assisting with dirty linen in the housekeeping laundry room.
  • Thoroughly clean and restock the required number of guest rooms as assigned per shift.
  • Perform additional cleaning projects as assigned by the direct supervisor, which may include work in storage rooms, public spaces, the guest laundry, and deep cleaning activities for rooms.
  • Ensure all front and back of house areas are well-organized and clean.
  • Greet guests happily with a smile while cleaning, using their names whenever possible.
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed to ensure the hotel is well-organized and safe.
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and at the designated times.
  • Ensure handover reports are accurate and on time for effective shift-to-shift communication.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed, wearing a nametag and smiling at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members.
  • Exhibit a 'Can Do' attitude, willing to stretch beyond traditional roles to meet business and guest needs.
  • Collaborate with team members to create a welcoming environment for guests and a positive workplace.
