About The Position

The Brickhouse Inn, a historic bed and breakfast in Gettysburg, PA, is seeking a skilled Housekeeper. This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and order of the property, including guest rooms and common areas, as well as assisting with food preparation and inventory management.

Requirements

3-5 years of relevant experience in housekeeping
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
Must be available to work weekends
Must have excellent time management skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

Current SERVSAFE certification or has successfully completed a sanitation course within the past year

Responsibilities

Maintain cleanliness of the property including dusting and polishing furniture and fixtures.
Clean and sanitize toilets, showers/bathtubs, countertops, and sinks.
Maintain a clean and sanitary kitchen area.
Reset rooms by making beds and changing linens.
Wash windows, vacuum and clean carpets and rugs, sweep/vacuum, polish, and mop hard floors.
Sort and wash laundry.
Cook meals according to recipes, assemble, combine, and cook ingredients while maintaining a sanitary kitchen.
Prepare ingredients by following recipes; slicing, cutting, chopping, mincing, stirring, whipping, and mixing ingredients; adding seasonings; verifying taste; and plating meals.
Complete hot meal preparation by grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and broiling ingredients and assembling and refrigerating cold ingredients.
Adhere to proper food handling, sanitation, and safety procedures; maintain temperature and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) logs as required; and maintain appropriate dating, labeling, and rotation of all food items.
Use cleaning equipment such as vacuums, mops, cleaning chemicals and other tools to maintain cleanliness of the property.
Keep bathrooms stocked with clean linens, toiletries, and other supplies.
Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste.
Monitor cleaning supplies and submit order requests to supervisor as needed.
Report any necessary repairs or replacements.
Coordinate daily food supply inventory and submit orders to supervisor.
Perform other duties as assigned.
