About The Position

Position Summary: Under direct supervision, performs daily cleaning tasks for students, faculty and staff in classrooms, lounges, restrooms, offices, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Facilities Services Department.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Demonstrated understanding of assigned areas, necessary supplies and equipment in custodial field
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in written form
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty, and staff

Responsibilities

  • Perform all custodial services-related tasks while demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees, client staff and customers.
  • Perform basic cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods including dusting and damp wipe surfaces, polish metal and porcelain fixtures, mop and sanitize floors and spot clean walls and windows.
  • Shampoo and vacuum carpets, remove waste from wastebaskets, and replenish room supplies.
  • Use and maintain industrial cleaning equipment and recommend repairs as needed.
  • Measure and mix cleaning chemicals to perform cleaning functions.
  • Assist in emergency spills upon request.
  • Observe and report the general need for repairs to College furniture, buildings and fixtures.
  • Perform snow removal, event set up and other duties as assigned.
