The Times Square offers 652 units of permanent supportive housing to low-income New Yorkers, people living with HIV/AIDS, veterans, and chronically homeless individuals, including some with mental illness. The Center for Urban Community Services provides comprehensive onsite social services, and Breaking Ground coordinates property management services. The Times Square is Breaking Ground’s flagship, supportive housing residence. When Breaking Ground acquired the building in 1991, The Times Square, a former grand hotel was transformed into the largest permanent supportive housing residence in the nation. Reporting to the Building Service Coordinator, the Housekeeper is a part of the department that maintains the common areas of the building. Examples of common areas include offices, multi-purpose rooms, roof deck, garden, trash collection area, lobby, fitness room, and sidewalks. Client areas will also be cleaned. This position has a 35-hour work week, onsite.
