About The Position

Residence Inn by Marriott Boston Downtown/South End, a Colwen Hotels property, is seeking a motivated, friendly Housekeeper with an eye for detail. The role performs a variety of cleaning activities in accordance with company and brand standards, ensuring guest rooms are clean, stocked, maintained, and ready to meet hotel standards. Housekeepers respond to guest and department requests, protect guest privacy, and coordinate needed maintenance or repairs. The position also includes handling soiled linens and found items and performing other duties as requested.

Requirements

Prior experience as a cleaner or housekeeper; hotel experience preferred.
Detail-oriented and thorough.
Remain discreet and respect guest privacy.
Work with the highest level of integrity.
Perform consistently to the highest standard.
Work quickly without compromising quality.
Work with little supervision while maintaining a high level of performance.
Interact with guests in a pleasant and friendly way.
Excellent prioritization and time-management skills.
Willingness to work a rotational seven-day work cycle, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Receive the assigned-room list from the manager and prioritize rooms.
Clean, stock, and maintain assigned guest rooms according to Colwen and brand cleanliness standards.
Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
Check and replenish cleaning-cart supplies, then transport the cart to assigned floors and rooms.
Protect guest privacy; knock and announce before entering rooms and return later if a room is occupied.
Check and restock room amenities and supplies according to standards.
Make beds and stock bath linens according to standards.
Clean and disinfect bathrooms, kitchens, and/or coffee stations.
Remove trash, dirty linens, towels, and room-service items from rooms.
Check that appliances are present and in clean working order.
Straighten desk areas and furniture; dust and polish furniture; remove marks and stains from walls and furnishings.
Vacuum carpets and clean floors.
Notify the maintenance department of needed maintenance or repairs.
Conduct a final walk-around to ensure rooms meet hotel standards.
Launder soiled linens as needed, including loading washers and dryers and folding sheets and towels.
Take found items to the designated lost-and-found area.
Perform other duties as requested.
