The main function is to perform indoor household cleaning duties to keep the parish office and rectory clean, neat and tidy. This includes vacuuming, mopping, surface cleaning, dusting, changing and laundering linen. The role also involves keeping all cleaning equipment in order and ensuring safe and sanitary storage of supplies and cleaning products. The housekeeper will provide overall cleanliness and sanitation of the parish office and rectory, bathrooms and common areas including scrubbing, mopping, vacuuming, polishing, dusting, washing windows and using germicides. They will perform weekly collection and laundering of linen and towels and monitor/restock toilet paper, paper towels, soaps and other products. The role also includes vacuuming and cleaning carpets/rugs weekly, disposing of trash/recycle, dusting and polishing furniture, light fixtures and baseboards weekly. Cleaning behind heavy furniture and appliances, dusting and cleaning ceiling and air vents, surface areas and counter surfaces weekly. Scrubbing sinks, basins, bathtubs, showers and toilets in bathrooms. Washing dishes and putting them away. Washing clothes, ironing, folding and putting them away for both the priest and the parochial vicar. Running errands including grocery shopping and picking up dry cleaning. Cleaning glass surfaces, mirrors, counters and windows (inside and outside) for both the parish and rectory. Keeping all rectory spaces neat and tidy, including the garage. Cleaning, maintaining, disinfecting and storing all equipment at the end of the shift. Reporting repairs and replacements needed, responding appropriately to resident's special requests, and observing and reporting any potential safety hazards. Adherence to safety and hygiene guidelines and OSHA standards is required.
