About The Position

The Housekeeper maintains the cleanliness, sanitation, and presentation of guest rooms, dormitories, washrooms, and common areas at a Dexterra camp facility. The project will launch at approximately 500 rooms and scale to more than 4,000 rooms. Reporting to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Lead Housekeeper, the Housekeeper ensures accommodations remain clean, safe, and guest-ready. The role involves working in a fast-paced, team-based environment with daily room assignments and cleaning checklists.

Requirements

• Knowledge of standard cleaning procedures, chemicals, and equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 35–50 pounds.
• Willingness to follow safety and sanitation procedures.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in housekeeping, janitorial, or commercial cleaning.
• Experience in hotel, institutional, workforce accommodation, camp, or lodge environments.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize guest rooms and dormitories, including making beds, changing linens, dusting and sanitizing high-touch surfaces, and emptying garbage and recycling.
• Clean and disinfect washrooms and shower facilities.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum hallways, stairwells, and common areas.
• Complete room turnovers and check-outs according to schedules.
• Clean and sanitize laundry rooms and public high-touch points.
• Collect, launder, fold, and restock towels and linens.
• Maintain a clean, organized housekeeping cart and storage areas.
• Report maintenance issues or damages to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Follow safety, infection-control, and PPE requirements.
• Assist with additional housekeeping or janitorial tasks as assigned.
