Damar is currently seeking a Housekeeper to provide consistent application of the highest health standards, ensuring that all residents reside in a safe, clean and healthy environment and that the building and equipment are maintained in such a manner as to comply with the State Board of Health’s rules and regulations, to ensure the health and safety of residents and employees.

Requirements

No formal education required
Three years of experience in housekeeping in a business or office setting with a minimum of two years’ experience in housekeeping at the same facility preferred
Ability to follow and execute specific oral and written instructions
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
Ability to routinely lift 10 to 60 pounds from floor level to overhead in height
Must have the ability to maneuver 20 to 100 pounds vertically
Must have the ability to perform daily tasks by bending, twisting, squatting, lifting, pulling and pushing with wrist, arm, shoulder and back movements
Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
Physical: Primary functions require sufficient physical ability and mobility to work in an office setting; to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time; to occasionally stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twist; to lift, carry, push, and/or pull light to moderate amounts of weight (up to 35lbs); to operate office equipment requiring repetitive hand movement and fine coordination including use of a computer keyboard; to travel to other locations using various modes of private and commercial transportation; and to verbally communicate to exchange information.
Vision: See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
Hearing: Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.

Responsibilities

Perform all daily, weekly and monthly duties as per the Housekeeping Cleaning standard operating procedures
Performs weekend duties as assigned: such as laundry, cleaning and stocking
Ensure all buildings are maintained in such a manner as to provide the cleanest environment as possible in which residents may live
Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas
