About The Position

A family in Nolita, Manhattan, is seeking an experienced, meticulous, and reliable Temporary Housekeeper to assist with the upkeep of their approximately 3,000-square-foot residence. The position is expected to last approximately 3–6 months while their longtime housekeeper is on medical leave. The household consists of two adults, one child living at home, an older child who returns during school holidays, and a small, friendly long-haired Dachshund. The family is seeking a trustworthy, detail-oriented professional who takes pride in maintaining a beautiful home and is particularly careful when working around delicate furnishings, artwork, glass, and fragile decorative items.

Requirements

Prior professional housekeeping experience in private homes
Excellent, verifiable references
Strong knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and care of delicate surfaces and furnishings
Experience handling fine artwork, glass, and fragile decorative pieces
Ability to manage laundry and household linens
Comfortable around dogs
Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented
Available for a temporary assignment of approximately 3–6 months

Nice To Haves

Light ironing skills are a plus
Basic family cooking skills are a plus, but not required

Responsibilities

Full-charge housekeeping and detailed cleaning of the approximately 3,000-square-foot residence
Thorough cleaning and maintenance of bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and common living areas
Careful dusting and cleaning around delicate artwork, glass, and fragile decorative items
Changing bed linens and laundering bedding and towels
Handling household laundry, including clothing and linens
Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the home
Performing deeper cleaning projects and rotating household tasks as time permits
Keeping guest rooms clean and prepared for visiting family members
Light ironing as needed (preferred but not required)
Occasional assistance with simple meal preparation or preparing a family dinner would be a welcome bonus, but is not required
Helping maintain a tidy, comfortable, and well-cared-for home
