About The Position

The Environmental Services Tech, under the general supervision of the Director of Environmental Services/Maintenance, is responsible for performing general housekeeping and laundry assignments, cleaning and maintaining the appearance of assigned common areas. This role adheres to prescribed policies and procedures, including all applicable federal, state, local, and accreditation regulations.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform needed functions.
  • Completion of high school coursework or general education requirement certificate.
  • Ability to speak, read, write and understand English.

  • Some preferred to one year of experience.

Responsibilities

  • Performing all duties assigned by the supervisor in a timely manner while adhering to all safety precautions and OSHA regulations.
  • Emptying trash, dusting, and vacuuming thoroughly all common areas.
  • Cleaning and deodorizing bathrooms, replacing toilet paper and paper towels.
  • Polishing/cleaning furniture, fixtures, and window ledges.
  • Mopping floor areas.
  • Assisting with maintaining common areas and grounds, ensuring they are in good repair, clean and free of trash and safety hazards, and conducting assigned preventative maintenance.
  • Cleaning office equipment, performing general clean-up in social areas and common areas such as hallways, break rooms, and conference rooms.
  • Assuring clean laundry for the facility by processing all soiled linens to wash and dry.
  • Folding and distributing clean linen.
  • Delivering all linens on a timely basis.
  • Keeping washers and dryers clean and free of lint.
  • Keeping the laundry area and the linen closets clean and orderly at all times.
  • Monitoring laundry supplies.
  • Hanging personal laundry on carts and delivering to each wing (delivering to residents' closets, where applicable).
  • Assisting the Director with cleaning related to move out/move in schedules.
  • Responding as needed to requests related to safety and cleanliness concerns.
  • Demonstrating and maintaining a positive, professional manner, managing time efficiently and effectively.
  • Providing leadership as a role model to promote a team approach, collaborating and participating in policy creation and appropriate problem-solving methods.
  • Adhering to all policies, procedures, terms and conditions set forth in the National Church Residences’ Employee Information Guide (EIG), the Code of Conduct, as well as any facility handbook, including but not limited to, corporate compliance, drug-free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state, local regulations and laws.
  • Ensuring all care is provided with respect and dignity for the residents/clients, their families and the staff, with respect to Resident Rights.
  • Reporting all complaints made by residents/clients and/or families to the appropriate supervisors.
  • Reporting all allegations of abuse, misappropriation of funds/resident property and/or any other corporate compliance, drug-free workplace, safe work practices, all federal, state and local regulations and laws.
  • Completing all annual education requirements timely, including but not limited to Compliance, Privacy, Security and HIPAA training and exhibiting behavior as set forth by the Code of Conduct in the performance of their duties.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
