About The Position

This role involves performing basic apartment cleaning in assigned residences, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, making beds, and cleaning bathroom fixtures and floors. The housekeeper will also maintain the cleanliness of all common areas within the building, such as the main entry, reception area, corridors, bathrooms, activity rooms, and dining room. Responsibilities include floor and carpet care, cleaning public restrooms, and handling cleaning supplies safely. The position requires interaction with residents, reporting health concerns to management, and responding to emergencies. Maintaining compliance with all relevant regulations (HIPAA, OSHA, labor laws) is crucial. The role also emphasizes teamwork, safety awareness, and fostering a positive environment for residents and visitors. Basic knowledge of the organization is expected to answer resident inquiries, and other duties may be assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Perform basic apartment cleaning of bathroom fixtures and floors, including dusting, vacuuming, changing linens, and making beds.
  • Change residents' bedding and linens weekly, with options for more frequent changes for an additional fee.
  • Maintain linen inventory to accommodate weekly changes and schedule washing, drying, and folding.
  • Interact with residents in a friendly manner and provide meaningful attention.
  • Communicate resident health concerns to management.
  • Maintain a clean building in all common areas, including entryways, reception, corridors, bathrooms, activity rooms, and the dining room.
  • Clean floors by sweeping, dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, and disinfecting.
  • Set up and remove caution and safety signs to ensure resident and visitor safety.
  • Clean carpets by vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Clean public restrooms, including washing, sanitizing, and polishing bathroom fixtures.
  • Remove dirt, dust, grease, and film from surfaces using appropriate cleaning and disinfecting solutions.
  • Handle hazardous cleaning supplies according to proper procedures and ensure accurate labeling.
  • Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training programs.
  • Respond appropriately to resident emergencies by contacting appropriate internal and external parties.
  • Assist with disaster management efforts and activities during evacuations.
  • Maintain compliance with all local, state, federal, and licensing rules and regulations, including HIPAA, OSHA, and labor laws.
  • Work in a safe manner and report unsafe actions to the Executive Director.
  • Comply with Safety Committee Standards and follow procedures for workplace injuries.
  • Foster teamwork with co-workers, show initiative, assist others, and have a positive impact on co-workers, residents, and visitors.
  • Develop basic knowledge of the organization to answer basic questions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or needed.
