About The Position

Villa Fairmont MHRC is a 96-bed licensed Mental Health Rehabilitation Center serving adults aged 18-65. The Housekeeper performs cleaning and servicing tasks for the facility's building areas, maintaining an orderly, sanitary, and attractive condition. This is a full-time AM shift position, Monday through Friday, from 6:30 AM to 3:00 PM. The expected starting wage is $21.78, and this position is covered by a collective bargaining agreement with union membership requirements. Telecare applies geographic differentials to pay ranges, and starting pay is commensurate with relevant experience.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of relevant experience in the hotel, motel, health care, or a similar work environment is required.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English in order to follow written and verbal directions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A desire to work with mentally impaired adults is crucial.
  • Applicant must be fingerprinted, sign under penalty of perjury that there has been no conviction of any crime, other than minor traffic offenses, and receive clearance from the Department of Justice.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a health care setting is preferred.
  • High school graduation or a G.E.D. equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Sweeps, mops, vacuums, buffs, strips, washes, and shampoos floor surfaces.
  • Cleans and dusts furniture, closets, telephone areas, and vents.
  • Scours, polishes, and sanitizes sinks, counters, stainless steel surfaces, and waste receptacles.
  • Empties waste receptacles, cleans solid waste containers, and transports medical waste to the outside storeroom.
  • Washes windows and walls, which may involve removing draperies and rugs.
  • Washes mops, rags, and linen.
  • Gathers and returns needed cleaning supplies and equipment to support rooms.
  • Distributes clean laundry from the clean linen closet to nursing staff.
  • Collects dirty laundry from nursing areas and moves it to the loading area for pickup.
  • Demonstrates the Telecare mission, purpose, values, and beliefs in everyday interactions.
  • Performs tasks correctly and according to policies and procedures.
  • Participates as a team member, reporting observations and concerns.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proper use of equipment and supplies.
  • Reports defective equipment or needed repairs to the supervisor.
  • Executes facility Fire, Disaster, and Safety procedures.
  • Assists with the management of assaultive behavior upon request by clinical staff.
  • Reports fire and accident hazards to the supervisor.
  • Demonstrates a good rapport and cooperative working relationships with all team members.
  • Continually focuses on assigned tasks and seeks improvements.
  • Understands and demonstrates the safety program in all activities.
  • Has knowledge of and implements contamination and infection control procedures.
  • Practices universal precautions at all times.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of Telecare's customers, including clients, families, and governmental agencies.
  • Acts in a professional manner, demonstrating respect and understanding of the community when representing Telecare.
  • Completes and follows through with tasks and assignments, meeting expected deadlines.
  • Understands and demonstrates knowledge of all policies associated with attendance.
  • Attends all assigned in-service education programs.
  • Requests additional training in areas where self-improvement is desired.
  • Dresses appropriately and professionally.
