About The Position

The Housekeeper cleans and maintains assigned hospital areas in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition to promote a clean and healthy environment for employees, patients, and guests, in accordance with departmental standards. The role includes following proper disposal techniques for biohazard materials, including bodily fluids and sharp objects; applying specialized cleaning techniques to designated rooms and equipment; replenishing supplies such as soap, paper towels, and tissues; and delivering clean linens to patient rooms.

Success in this role requires maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control while following safety protocols and departmental guidelines. The Housekeeper is expected to be reliable and attentive to detail, flexible in taking on additional tasks, timely in reporting maintenance issues, and proactive in responding to emergencies and supporting a safe, healthy environment for patients and staff.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED; General Studies.
• Experience in the proper handling of infectious waste.

Responsibilities

• Clean and sanitize patient, guest, and staff areas as needed.
• Clean, sanitize, and disinfect restrooms.
• Clean floors on schedule according to cleaning requirements.
• Restock areas as needed with paper products and soap.
• Handle and dispose of biohazard materials, including bodily fluids and sharp objects, using proper techniques.
• Apply specialized cleaning techniques to designated rooms and equipment.
• Deliver clean linens to patient rooms.
• Report maintenance issues in a timely manner.
• Respond proactively to emergencies and support a safe, healthy environment.
