About The Position

Hiring a Part Time Housekeeper to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas for patients/residents, visitors and associates by following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines. Tasks include emptying waste baskets, sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors, using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines. The position requires knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment, and the ability to apply this to provide a clean and sterile environment. Responsibilities may include cleaning patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas to meet health standards. The role involves wearing proper protective equipment, keeping storage and equipment clean and stocked, and potentially assisting in laundry areas. Access to and appropriate use of pagers and other technology may be required. The position may involve overtime, call, backup call, nights, days, weekends, and holidays depending on patient/resident needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of six months housekeeping or commercial cleaning experience preferred.
Ability to use computer.
Knowledge of materials, equipment, cleaning methods, and cleaning chemicals is helpful.
Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills are required.
Previous custodial experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

Maintaining a safe and sanitary environment in patient/resident rooms and assigned areas.
Following infection control, safety, and procedural guidelines.
Emptying waste baskets.
Sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors using brooms, mops, or powered scrubbing and waxing machines.
Demonstrating knowledge of housekeeping processes, tools, and techniques in a healthcare environment.
Cleaning patient/resident rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms, and other work areas.
Wearing proper protective equipment.
Keeping storage, equipment, and carts well-stocked, clean, and tidy.
Using pagers and other technology appropriately.
Assisting in laundry areas as appropriate.
Using technology applications depending on location and availability of programs.
