About The Position

Open Door Care Network is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Part-Time Housekeeper to join our team at our Family Medical Center in Sleepy Hollow, NY. In this essential role, you will help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our patients, visitors, and staff while supporting our mission of providing high-quality healthcare to the communities we serve. The Housekeeper reports directly to the Housekeeping Supervisor and plays a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control throughout the health center.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a healthcare, medical, or clinical setting.
  • Knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, techniques, and infection control practices.
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Professional, courteous, and team-oriented attitude.
  • Ability to understand and follow departmental procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, stretch, climb, and perform repetitive motions throughout the workday.
  • Flexibility to work additional hours when needed.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize patient exam rooms, hallways, waiting areas, restrooms, and other facility spaces.
  • Dust, mop, vacuum, polish, and maintain all assigned areas to ensure a clean and professional environment.
  • Restock housekeeping and restroom supplies and notify supervisors when inventory is low.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to designated disposal areas.
  • Properly label, remove, and dispose of infectious and hazardous waste according to established procedures.
  • Replenish sharps containers and biohazard materials as needed.
  • Dust and polish furniture, glass surfaces, stairways, elevators, and common areas.
  • Follow all housekeeping, safety, infection control, and environmental services procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with maintenance and housekeeping team members to maintain facility standards.
  • Complete required training and certification for biohazardous waste removal if designated for those responsibilities.
