About The Position

Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Skidmore, Texas, is seeking to hire a qualified Housekeeper. This position is part-time, one day per week, not to exceed four hours per week. As an integral part of the ministry for the Church, this position will support and uphold the philosophy of the Catholic ministry and the mission of the Diocese of Corpus Christi in both professional and personal life. Act as a witness to Gospel values by modeling the teachings of the Catholic Church. Continually grow in the ministry by participating in religious ceremonies, trainings sessions, and reflection activities as directed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Valid Texas driver's license
• Reliable, honest, and trustworthy
• Ability to work with little supervision, manage time efficiently and maintain a high level of performance
• Strong attention to detail
• Knowledge of standard cleaning chemicals and sanitization procedures
• Experience with using cleaning equipment including vacuum cleaners, and cleaning solutions
• Must successfully complete pre-employment screening this includes a criminal history background check provided by the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
• Certification in Safe Environment training provided by the Office for Safe Environment and Child & Family Resources (renewed every 3 years)
• Must adhere to all Diocesan policies and procedures

Responsibilities

• Maintains cleanliness and sanitation in all areas of the rectory and keeps rectory clean and in an orderly condition
• Performs routine general maintenance activities
• Performs heavy cleaning duties including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing surfaces, emptying trash, dusting, washing dishes, and laundry
• Sanitizes restrooms and high-touch surfaces
• Use cleaning solutions and work with chemicals carefully following instructions
• Notifies Priest or Office Manager regarding the need for maintenance repairs or damages immediately and supply needs
• Performs other duties as assigned
