Position Overview: The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest rooms, hallways, furnishings, flooring and work areas. This includes vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and other general cleaning tasks as well as refilling supplies, sanitizing equipment and making beds.

Requirements

  • Hotel or housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • You must be able to work dayshifts, weekends and holidays.
  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Must have basic Reading, Writing and Math skills.
  • Strong customer service skills are required.
  • Taking satisfaction from meeting high standards of excellence is required.
  • Prioritization and time management skills are necessary.
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
  • Must have a strong attention to detail.

Nice To Haves

  • Hotel or housekeeping experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma, GED certification or equivalent experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Take the initiative to greet guests in a friendly and warm manner and assist them as appropriate.
  • Replenish supplies, such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
  • Make beds and clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, corridors, elevators, stairways, locker rooms and other work areas.
  • Clean rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture and draperies.
  • Dust furniture and equipment.
  • Polish metalwork such as fixtures and fittings.
  • Wash walls, ceilings, woodwork, windows, door panels and sills.
  • Empty wastebaskets and transport trash and waste to the disposal area.
  • Replenish bathroom supplies and replace light bulbs.
  • Adhere to regulations set forth by the material safety data sheets when using chemicals.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
