About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning and preparing guest rooms, hallways, and public areas in the hotel. This role involves completing pre-cleaning duties such as stocking room supplies and tools on the assigned work cart, attending morning stand-up meetings, and folding or assisting with dirty linen in the housekeeping laundry room. The Housekeeper will thoroughly clean and restock the required number of guest rooms as assigned per shift, and will also undertake additional cleaning projects in storage rooms, public spaces, guest laundry, and deep cleaning activities as assigned by their direct supervisor. The goal is to ensure all front and back of house areas are well-organized and clean, contributing to the MCR standard of providing clean, friendly, well-organized, and safe hotels for guests.

Requirements

  • Experience in a hospitality, service, consumer-facing franchise or related field preferred.
  • Must have a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Must be able to understand and follow established guidelines and procedures.
  • Must work well in stressful, high-pressure situations.
  • Must be effective at listening to, understanding, clarifying, and resolving the concerns and issues raised by co-workers and guests.
  • Must be able to convey information and ideas clearly.
  • Must have a desire to serve all guests.
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must be willing to work a varied schedule that may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based upon the demands of the hotel.
  • Arrive and clock in on time for every shift worked and clock out at the scheduled shift ending time, unless otherwise directed by your immediate supervisor.
  • Clock in/out for breaks at the designated time on your schedule.
  • Provide sufficient notice as directed by your supervisor when calling out for a scheduled shift.

Responsibilities

  • Complete all pre-cleaning duties including stocking room supplies and tools on assigned work cart.
  • Attend morning stand-up meeting.
  • Fold and/or assist with dirty linen in the housekeeping laundry room.
  • Thoroughly clean and restock the required number of guest rooms as assigned per shift.
  • Perform additional cleaning projects in storage rooms, public spaces, guest laundry, and room deep cleaning activities as assigned by direct supervisor.
  • Ensure all front and back of house areas are well-organized and clean.
  • Greet guests happily with a smile, by name if possible, while cleaning.
  • Complete all operational checklists accurately and at designated times.
  • Wear a clean, approved uniform and be well-groomed per the Team Member Handbook, wearing a nametag and smiling at all times.
  • Communicate clearly, honestly, and professionally with team members.
  • Work collaboratively to create a welcoming environment for guests and a positive workplace.
  • Handle challenging guest situations with hospitality and a sense of urgency.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of all hotel features and amenities.
  • Be aware of and support all groups and events at the hotel.
  • Answer all incoming calls with friendly service using the approved greeting.
  • Pitch in to clean guest rooms and public spaces as needed.
