About The Position

The Housekeeper at The Mary Campbell Center is responsible for maintaining a high quality of cleanliness in a homelike environment for 68 residents. The role emphasizes working with respect, personal dignity, and independence for residents, while adhering to the MCC Guiding Principles and Mission. The housekeeper will work reliably, effectively, efficiently, and with respect for residents, staff, families, volunteers, professional consultants, and the physical environment of The Center.

Requirements

  • Must be a good person of high character who consistently works with a positive attitude and demonstrates compassion and understanding for residents with varying degrees of disability.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision.
  • Ability to effectively work on multiple tasks simultaneously and work an assigned schedule, attention to details.
  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
  • Previous leadership experience in housekeeping and laundry.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology tools to manage program reporting and achieve department goals.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous successful experience working with those with disabilities and/or in a rehabilitative setting is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Cleaning breakrooms, kitchens and bathrooms
  • Making beds
  • Vacuuming and dusting
  • Picking up rubbish and moving it to designated areas
  • Notifying managers of necessary repairs.
  • Collecting and disposing of trash.
  • Ability to manage your time efficiently.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and interact positively with residents.
  • Completes all mandatory Relias and in-person training.
  • Collaborates with other housekeepers as needed.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Attends all departmental meetings and communicates effectively with team members.
  • Maintains schedule for housekeeping and laundry as requested.
  • Works as a housekeeper or in laundry during each shift.
  • Maintain excellent resident and staff relationships.
  • Handles laundry management, including washing, drying, sorting/folding clothes, etc.
  • Follow policies and procedures.
