About The Position

Harbor Oaks Hospital is seeking a Housekeeper to join its Environmental Services (EVS) team at its mental health and addiction treatment facility in New Baltimore, Michigan. The role performs cleaning and custodial work to maintain the facility’s sanitation and cleanliness, including disinfecting rooms and equipment, cleaning floors and kitchens, laundering linens, maintaining supplies, and preparing rooms for meetings and facility functions. The position is full-time, Monday through Friday and every other weekend, on the day shift from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m., with some flexibility. Pay is $16.50–$18.76 per hour, based on experience.

Requirements

CPR certification is required; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.
De-escalation and restraint certification is required; training is available upon hire and offered by the facility.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous housekeeping experience in a commercial, clinical, or healthcare environment preferred.
First aid may be required based on state or facility requirements.

Responsibilities

Perform cleaning and custodial tasks to maintain the facility’s general upkeep, sanitation, and cleanliness.
Disinfect rooms, furniture, fixtures, equipment, and supplies using appropriate cleaning processes and germicides.
Perform other housekeeping duties, including moving and arranging furniture, turning mattresses, cleaning kitchens and cooking utensils and silverware, and sweeping, scrubbing, waxing, or polishing floors as needed.
Launder soiled linens as directed.
Maintain adequate cleaning supplies for department or unit use and stock supplies as needed.
Clean and properly store equipment and supplies after each shift.
Prepare rooms for meetings and arrange decorations and furniture for facility functions.
Follow all infection control measures.
