About The Position

St. Joseph Church in Palmyra, MO has an opening for a Housekeeper. This part-time position involves approximately 8-10 hours of cleaning per week across the church, rectory, and Farischon Hall. Responsibilities include dusting, vacuuming, mopping, trash removal, and occasional deep cleaning tasks. Additional cleaning may be required after events and rentals. The role also involves submitting supply needs and reporting any damages to the church office.

Requirements

Ability to complete Paylocity online information before starting work, including online application, Virtus training update, employee handbook review, payroll forms, and direct deposit information.
Must be able to work part-time, approximately 8-10 hours per week.
Must be able to perform all cleaning duties as described.
Must be able to report supply needs and damages in writing or via email.

Ability to water flowers and care for decorations.

Responsibilities

Dusting, vacuuming, and cleaning main entrance doors of the church.
Dusting, vacuuming, and maintaining the side entrance handicapped area.
Sweeping rugs and floors, and dusting the sacristy.
Vacuuming the entire church, choir loft, and cry room.
Dusting areas and cleaning glass in the church as needed.
Cleaning the altar area, ensuring it is vacuumed and dusted regularly.
Periodically mopping and cleaning between pews.
Emptying trash in all designated areas.
Providing extra care for flowers and decorations during Christmas and Easter.
Cleaning the rectory every other week, including living room, stairs, kitchen, dining room, Father's bedroom, Father's bathroom, bathroom off the kitchen, and laundry room.
Ensuring toilets are flushed and flush water in extra bedrooms and bathrooms in the rectory.
Cleaning Farischon Hall weekly, including bathrooms (men's, women's, handicapped), floors, surfaces, and emptying trash.
Wiping down the oven in the Farischon Hall kitchen occasionally.
Mopping out the walk-in refrigerator and freezer in the Farischon Hall kitchen if needed.
Cleaning Knights of Columbus Room, Classrooms, and Youth Room as needed due to high traffic or events.
Mopping large halls, hallways, ramp, and Rothweiler room.
Wiping down tables and the kitchen area in the large hall.
Cleaning the hall after large rentals on Friday or Saturday nights.
Submitting all supply needs and reporting any damages noticed on properties to the church office in writing or via email.
