About The Position

The Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and safe environment for residents, staff, and visitors within an assisted living setting. This includes cleaning resident rooms, common areas, and supporting infection control practices in compliance with state regulations and the community’s policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience in housekeeping, preferably in a healthcare or senior living environment.
  • Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques and infection control standards.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds and perform physically demanding tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize resident apartments, including bedrooms, bathrooms, and kitchenettes.
  • Dust, vacuum, mop, and empty trash regularly.
  • Change bed linens and launder resident personal items, if required and authorized.
  • Clean and maintain hallways, lobbies, dining areas, activity rooms, and restrooms.
  • Disinfect high-touch surfaces to support infection control.
  • Refill paper products and cleaning supplies in public restrooms and utility rooms.
  • Wash, dry, fold, and distribute community linens, towels, and personal laundry as applicable.
  • Use proper cleaning chemicals and follow all SDS (Safety Data Sheet) guidelines.
  • Observe and report any maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or needed repairs.
  • Comply with infection control, sanitation, and cleanliness standards.
  • Respect resident privacy and dignity during all housekeeping activities.
